Adventure


An Adventure is a single episode in the life of the characters in the game. Be it an attempt to steal a particular piece of information from a company, or a visitation to an unknown planet. The adventure is self contained, with a distinct plot line. It may take a number of sessions to play through, but all those sessions follow on from one another. The average single adventure would probably last for 4-6 sessions, played consecutively.

Single Adventures are the most common form of commercially marketed supplement for roleplaying games, usually set in a specific world or environment. Games Masters can buy these adventures to run for their players without investing the time required to invent an adventure on their own.

It is possible for a single Adventure to constitute an entire game, even to be run in a single session, these are usually refered to as 'one-off' adventures. It is also possible for many adventures linked together to form a campaign.
