Monk Honour (FS)

Introduction

We are not honoured becasue we rule, nor are we honoured becasue we seek the path, we are honoured becasue the path seeks us.

Shioda

The aim of this deck is simple, bring out monks and get to 40 honour. With cheap high PH monks like Hsi Tsu and Hanoshi, as well as the all-powerful Shioda, its easy for this deck to gain 2-4 honour on the first turn and then to accelerate from then. The Temples to Shinsei and the Sanctified Temples also allow me to honour race in the later game, and in case of other honour runners or dishonour I have two Sagoten's as well. With the house of Tao Kisada's funeral is no problem, and neither is far from the empire, and in case of Shoju sensei I can usually use my duels.

The fate deck provides a lot of support for making this run to honour. First are the duels, which Shioda, Takao, Hsi Tsu, the sorcerers, double chi and void strike make it almost impossible for me to lose. Also all of these duels kill the target, giving me personality control (especially with Facing your devils, which can be effectivly unrefusable from Takao). Secondly I have a good bit of battle defence. The ring of earth, (which I start with) plus holy home villages can give huge province strength, which allows defeat the reserves to be very effective. Late in the game the use of defeat and in search of the future as well as some duels can decimate an attacking army which is not expecting it. Early in the game the blocks and duels defend against quick starting military decks.

The followers are there for extra chi, extra kiho-casters and also protection from Yogo military and ranged attacks. The In search of the future hurts tacticians and METH, while the blocks and fists are for oni. In a large battle Wayan can also nullify tacticians, force bonuses, portents and more.

Finally the man of the deck, besides Shidoa, is Hsi Tsu. An early Hsi Tsu is 2 honour plus an unending supply of +1/+1's that win duels, give force, make facing your devils unrefusable, break stalemates, protect against portents and assassins and more.
