Magic Points

A common system for managing a spellcasting system in many RPG's. The Mage is assigned some number of Magic Points (or spell points, mana, etc.) usually renewed by resting or passage of time. A number of these points are used by each spell cast, the more powerful spells requiring more, and when the points are used up no more spells may be cast until the Magic Points have returned.

This system regulates the use of spells, and allows the Mage to decide whether to blow all their power on one powerful piece of magic, or whether to use many more minor spells.
